Makawao Peacock
Bob Stubs lived just below Makawao on his family estate, while I was visiting this peacock was friendly, and loud. So I painted it among the tea plants.

Kula Jacaranda Tree and Holy Ghost Church
This is an old church that was brought around Cape Horn to get here a hundred years ago. The location is on the side of the mountain in the area that is now Kula. It's visible from fifty miles away on the other side of Maui's isthmus.

Rainbow From The Kaupo Store
Rainbow from the Kaupo store parking lot. This was a very fast painting, it had to be, the rain was heading my way! I stopped when the first few drops hit the canvas.

Lahaina Banyan Tree
This is the earliest painting I have. It was painted in the 70's, before I started numbering and dating the paintings. I was sitting under the Courthouse banyan tree which is part of the Lahaina Arts Society.

Hana Ivy Tree
It's color or contrast that inspire me to paint a scene, this view just stopped me as I was driving around the back side of the island. I painted only watercolor for the first 10 years on Maui.

Annas Bouquet
Anna's Bouquet was painted with copal oil medium and painted with the three primary pigments only, Indian Yellow Org/s from Old Holland, Quinacridone Magenta from Daniel Smith and Thalo Blue from Grumbacher.
